Dermal Filling is used to eliminate deep wrinkles in the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes, lip edges and the lip-cheek junction called the nasolabial fold. They are also used to fill the cheekbones to give the face a younger look and to plump the lips.

The materials used are gel-like liquids that are specially prepared for use on the face area at various concentrations and are discharged from the body after a certain time. Its density is determined according to the application area and purpose. Usually it does not require anesthesia, so it is a quick, comfortable procedure that can be applied in the examination room and will not restrict daily activities.

What Is a Filler Treatments?

Dermal Filling consists of semi-permanent or completely permanent substances injected under the skin to remove wrinkles or sagging marks and improve the appearance and rejuvenate.

Skin; as time passes, begins to lose its elastic structure. Especially not only with natural aging, but also due to environmental pollution, stress, diseases, unhealthy lifestyle or different factors, the skin may begin to lose its youthful appearance at an early age. Therefore, wrinkles, sagging and signs of aging occur on the skin.

These symptoms are generally seen in the eyes, mouth, chin, neck, and forehead. Filling injections for sagging and wrinkles in the middle or lower parts of the face are applied with very high success rates. Filler injection is one of the most preferred methods to provide a fuller and younger appearance or to remove scars or acne scars on the skin.

How Is Dermal Filling Applied?

The filling material used in dermal filling procedures is injected into the relevant area with the help of a very slim needle. The gel fills under the wrinkles and creates a clean, smooth, and young skin by opening the wrinkles. In sagging problems on the face, it gives volume to the face and eliminates sagging.

In addition, hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxy apatite are substances known to increase collagen in the skin. Since the skin regenerates, the applied area looks much better than the original, even after the filler dissolves.

Dermal filling procedure is a suitable method for almost everyone. It is not recommended to be applied to expectant mothers, breastfeeding mothers, people with infection and inflammation on their skin. In addition, it is not suitable for people who are allergic to the filler used.

Which Procedures Are Performed with Aesthetic Filling?

With dermal filling, sagging on the face can be removed, cheekbones can be clarified, wrinkles from the nose wings to the corners of the lips can be treated, the sagging line extending from the mouth to the chin is removed, lips are shaped and plumped. Apart from that, wrinkles around the lips are removed and eyebrows can be shaped.

The chin line can be corrected, the nose can be lifted and shaped, the lines between the eyebrows can be removed, acne and scars can be removed.

The material to be used while performing dermal filling procedures is also determined by the surgeon according to the patient’s condition and preference. Completely natural ingredients can be used, as well as special mixtures for the patient.

Hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxy apatite, the most popular filling materials today, are among the most preferred materials to prevent sagging on the face. In addition, the nasal cheek line, the sagging line descending from the lip to the chin, the broken jaw line and falling cheeks are very successful methods of lifting.

With other skin renewal techniques, the skin age and appearance of the person can be rejuvenated by 5-10 years. Filling processes are completed between 20 minutes and 30 minutes. No pain or ache is felt in filling procedures.

Please take the time to thoroughly read and complete our updated Appointment Policies, COVID-19 Patient Protocols, ASAPS COVID-19 Consent, and COVID-19 Patient Screening Questions. These forms will be sent via email and must be completed prior to your appointment. This will help to screen patients and ensure social distancing in the office.

When we contact you, please let us know if you are or have been sick in the last 3 weeks, have been in close or prolonged contact with anyone who has been sick during that time, or have travelled outside the United States, or have returned from the following states within the last 14 days that have been added to the high covid risk government list including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah. Specific symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough, loss of sense of smell and taste, chest pressure, or shortness of breath

Alert us if you have any other health problems that make you more susceptible to developing COVID-19 or are at increased risk. Although our office has implemented additional measures to keep you safe during this time, we encourage you to consult your primary care physician for further instructions on how to remain safe. Typically, patients over age 65 who also have respiratory ailments, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, or are immunocompromised are at greater risk.

Medication refill and product requests: Routine requests for medication refills must be requested electronically through your pharmacy. Should you need to purchase skin or haircare products and would like them mailed to you, please e-mail office@DrRapaport.com or phone us at 212-249-9955.

We ask that you come alone to office visits, if possible. To limit exposure and practice social distancing, we are doing our best to minimize the number of people in the office at one time. If you require someone to accompany you to your visit, he/she will need to be with you at all times throughout the duration of your appointment or they will be asked to wait outside.

Please make sure to bring a mask with you to your office visit. If you do not have a mask, we will provide one for you.

Please abstain from handshake greetings and keep a “social distance” of 6 feet or more from other individuals when in the office whenever possible.

As soon as you enter the office you will be asked to use hand sanitizer provided to you upon arrival and departure from the practice. Coat both the front and back of your hands and wrists and let them air dry. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and avoid touching your face.

Please reply to all email and texts that we send you. We are working with limited personnel and resources, so responding to these messages will enable us to keep in touch with you safely.

We will provide ongoing care remotely using telemedicine. Our telemedicine system will allow us to speak with you, evaluate your face/body/breasts, prescribe treatment, and/or give you advice. We will be contacting you about your existing appointment to determine whether a virtual or in-person appointment is best.
